In dishing Tim Thomas, Jerome James and Anthony Roberson to Chicago and Malik Rose to Oklahoma City, Knicks President Donnie Walsh acquired two solid veterans (Larry Hughes and Chris Wilcox) while keeping New York's salary commitments to under $24 million for the 2010-2011 season. They may not have much chance of advancing past Boston or Cleveland, but New York can battle for this postseason while still keeping their long term goals intact.
