Since they were able to add two athletic players without adding to the bottom line past next season, the Knicks happily brought Larry Hughes and Chris Wilcox on board. They believe the additions will make them a contender for a playoff berth. Before the league's trading deadline expired, Knicks president Donnie Walsh got Hughes from the Chicago Bulls for Tim Thomas, Jerome James and Anthony Roberson. He also got Chris Wilcox from the Oklahoma City Thunder for the expiring contract of Malik Rose. "We'll have to juggle a little bit and just kind of play it out," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said.
